Falling

Falling

One hand inside the other

and so close I could stop breathing

dawn is an alembic pull

a curve cut into the sapphire glass of night

In the corner of the room, a lamp burns

as we lift the edges of sleep

refracting through this intimacy

and I wonder what it might feel like

                                                                                     to let go
